Hello Ward 13,Happy May!
As the vibrant month of May begins, I can’t help but feel the warmth of sunshine infusing our neighborhoods with its presence. This is one of my favorite times of the year, as we witness nature undergoing exciting changes, from flowers blooming to birds making their presence known. We have a season of exciting events ahead of us, with a side of construction and infrastructure projects.
In this season of growth, let’s embrace the days ahead by visiting our parks, playgrounds, and public spaces to enjoy the outdoors. We’re entering the warmer months, which amplify the ways we can connect, explore, and enjoy our community. So, let’s enjoy the sunshine during the month of May.

Adelaide Underpass Now Open: Hooray! |
Above: The Adelaide Underpass is now open. |
As of April 19, we opened one northbound lane and one southbound lane under the Adelaide Underpass. For the first time, Londoners will be able to travel under the new underpass providing much-anticipated bottleneck relief from trains for the community. All four lanes are expected to open later this summer.
At this time, pedestrians and cyclists will also be able to travel under the underpass using the sidewalk on the west side. Cyclists are encouraged to dismount while using the sidewalk under the underpass while crews finish work on the multi-use paths on either side of the underpass.
Road closures on Central Avenue and McMahon Street will remain in place until fall 2024. Local traffic can access McMahen Street and Central Avenue from Elizabeth Street. As always, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to watch for wayfinding signage to safely navigate around construction.
