Hello Ward 13

Happy New Year! As we welcome 2025, I want to take a moment to appreciate the strong sense of community and collaboration that defines Ward 13. We closed out the holiday season on a note of generosity and compassion, and now we step into January with a fresh outlook.

A new year often means fresh perspectives, and City Hall is gearing up for key discussions on priorities and projects that impact our daily lives—everything from neighborhood improvements to the continuing work of shaping our downtown’s future. Throughout the year, there will be opportunities to share your input on local initiatives that set the stage for the coming months and years ahead.

Let’s continue building on the spirit of unity we’ve nurtured. I encourage you to stay engaged—join community meetings, participate in city programs, and support local businesses whenever you can. Every act of involvement contributes to Ward 13’s vibrant identity.

I look forward to working for you in the year ahead. May 2025 bring health, inspiration, and meaningful progress.

Mobility Master Plan: Future network of roads, transit, cycling and sidewalks

Residents are invited to participate in the third and final phase of the Mobility Master Plan. This comprehensive initiative aims to create a more connected, efficient, and accessible transportation network for London’s growing population.

At public meetings starting in January, Londoners will have the chance to review maps of the proposed road, transit, cycling and sidewalk infrastructure project recommendations to be implemented between now and 2050. Public feedback input for this phase will be built into final recommendations presented to City Council in Spring 2025.

Key network recommendations of the Mobility Master Plan

  1. Strategic road projects: A draft road map includes projects designed to help manage congestion, support growth, handle inbound/outbound trips, improve road safety, and add vital infrastructure such as bike lanes and sidewalks to developing and underserved areas.
  2. Transit reliability: A draft transit network map proposes rapid transit corridors, transit priority routes, and transit-friendly areas that will increase access to jobs, healthcare, and other major institutions. It has been strategically designed to support London’s most densely developing areas and to improve the reliability of cross-city trips.
  3. Sidewalk & walkability enhancements: Critical gaps in sidewalk infrastructure along major roads have been identified to complement existing City sidewalk programs, enhancing walkability throughout the City. A map of Pedestrian Priority Areas indicates where walkability will be improved through wider sidewalks and improved streetscaping elements, such as street trees, benches, and waste receptacles.
  4. Cycling Network: A draft cycling network map showcases modifications to the approved Cycling Master Plan and outlines priorities for the next decade to ensure safe, well-connected cycling routes. This is being complimented by policies and actions such as developing a bike share business case and implementing more bike parking throughout the City.

The Mobility Master Plan is an ongoing initiative led by the City of London to improve transportation infrastructure and services for all residents and aims to create a system that supports the needs of a growing population, addresses climate change, and ensures equitable access to mobility options for everyone.
